Seinäjoki Central Hospital

A new extension to Seinäjoki Central Hospital was completed during 2017. An 8,000-square-foot extension was built in connection with Part F of the main hospital, which housed operations to support surgeries, such as equipment maintenance. Facilities to prepare patients for surgery were also completed in the extension of the property. A large proportion of patients now come for surgeries directly from home, not through the ward. A new pathology laboratory and office space were also completed in the new space.

The design of the property also took into account energy consumption, which was reduced with the Ecowec hybrid exchanger. The hot wash water and sewage generated in the property were connected to an Ecowec hybrid exchanger, which recycles the heat contained in the wastewater back to the hot water heating of the property.
