The energy efficiency of swimming pools is a major cost issue for cities and municipalities. The Ecowec hybrid heat exchanger is a solution for recovering all the thermal energy bound to the water from the shower and washing water as well as the swimming pool before it flows into the sewer system.

The amount of water used in swimming pools and the water is so warm that a heat pump that optimizes recovery may not even be needed, but a heat exchanger alone is enough to recycle hot water. However, an active heat pump system produces many times more heat from wastewater compared to a passive system without a heat pump.
